Hickory Creek Middle School is recognized as a School of Excellence by the Department of Education and Demonstration School by the Association of Illinois Middle Schools.

Adolescence is one of the most fascinating and complex transitions in the life span. This time period is filled with profound physical, social, emotional and behavioral changes. We believe that to help students through this challenging time period, school should be a unique or special place just for them. This entails developing following the middle school philosophy that not only addresses the cognitive domain but also the affective domain. Learning is extremely important, but so are students.
