WELCOME TO ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS in 6th Grade!
We will be studying the world's ancient civilizations including Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, India, Greece & Rome. We are using the new Discovery Ed Tech Book and the link is:

ALL HOMEWORK is listed on the back board for the entire week. IF your child is absent for one day, I will connect with them when they return the following day. They can see me before school, lunch, or after school.
BLOCK SCHEDULE w/Science
MAROON DAY-if your child's schedule shows social studies 1st, 3rd, or 6th period, they have social studies on Mondays/Wednesday(Maroon Day)
if the schedule shows social studies as 2nd 4th, or 7th period, they have social studies on Tuesday/Thursday (Gold Day)
Parents: Please use power school to periodically check your child's grade, and note any missing assignments. Thank you.

This week in class Monday
Maroon October 15
In Class we corrected the work started on Friday - "From Out of the Cave" Jr. Scholastic. Next, students completed an application of skill - Reading a timeline.
Last, Students began reading Explore pages 1-7 in Chapter 1 Concept 2.
HOMEWORK: Finish unread pages and highlight using the key given.

Students are beginning a mini- inquiry on pre-historic caves. A focus will include generating questions, gathering relevant sources and information, and then summarizing on a post card.
