Teacher Michele Hannigan - Kindergarten  (Send e-mail)

Welcome to my class web page! Please check my web page WEEKLY! I will attach a monthly news letter to my web page at the beginning of each month. My primary mode of communication with you will be on my web page and via email. I will update my web page weekly, as well as send important information and reminders of upcoming events through email and Remind 101.

Governor Pat Quinn signed Erin's Law in January of 2013, which requires all schools in the state of Illinois to provide age appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention education programs for their students in grades Pre-K through 12. In response to this legislation, Frankfort School District 157-C will be adding, "Child Lures Prevention: Think First and Stay Safe", curriculum for the school year. The curriculum is available in the school office for parents to preview.
The building social workers will be presenting this information to our class on November 8th and 15th during our art time. A second presentation will follow in January during the weeks of January 9th and January 16th.

*Take-Home Folders will come home each day. They will contain important notes and your child's school work. Please be sure to check and empty the folder each night. Any notes or information that you need to send to me should also be put in the Take-Home Folder. I personally check each folder every morning.

*Please read with your child nightly using the books in their green fluency bag.
*Homework Packets will come home every Friday. The homework packet will include a variety of language arts and math activities that are aligned with the kindergarten common core. Homework is optional. Feel free to return it if you would like, but it is not required.

Our school works on what we call a TIGER schedule . Therefore, our specials do NOT occur every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc... Instead, they will fall on a T, I, G, E, or R day. When we have a day off of school, it will not be a letter day. The letters are for days that we are in school only.

Lunch is from 11:20-11:40.
Recess is from 11:40-12:00.
