2nd Quarter I canís:
I can put letters together to make words.
I can start at the top and read across to the bottom on each page.
I can put words together to make a sentence,
I can leave spaces between my words.
I can name uppercase and lowercase letters.
I can read C-V-C words.
I can quickly read high frequency words.
I can write a consonant sound and short vowel sound I hear in a word.
I can sort common objects into groups and tell you why they belong in the group.
I can tell you the opposite of action words and describing words I use.
I can identify the front cover, back cover, and title page of a book.
I can tell you how illustrations and words match.
I can identify real life connections between words and their use.
I can retell a story I've heard including details.
I can use drawings and talking to tell about something that happened in order and how I felt.
I can spell simple words.
I can write sentences using Kindergarten spelling which begin with uppercase letters, have spaces, and end with a period.
I can talk and write using correct grammar and punctuation.
I can write my uppercase and lowercase letters.
I can use correct nouns and verbs when I talk and write.
I can use correct prepositions when I talk and write.
I can use more than one sentence to share an idea when I talk and write.
I can capitalize the first word in a sentence and the pronoun I.
I can recognize and name end punctuation.
I can compare groups of objects to decide which is greater than, less than, or equal to.
I can compare two written numerals to decide which is greater than, less than, or equal to.
I can describe objects by their characteristics.
I can compare objects that have similar characteristics.
I can sort and count objects.
I can describe objects that are around me by their shape and where they are found.
I can name and describe shapes.
I can tell if a shape is flat or solid.
I can describe how flat and solid shapes are alike and different.
I can plan and conduct an investigation to compare the effects of different strengths or different directions of pushes and pulls on the motion of an object.
I can analyze data to determine if a design solution works as intended to change the speed or direction of an object with a push or a pull.
Grand Prairie School follows a TIGER Schedule for specials. The TIGER schedule allows our students to get an equal amount of time participating in each specials class despite of days off of school. My teacher webpage will keep you updated on which letter day it is for the week.

Our class will go to PE daily. Be sure to send your child with gym shoes!
