4th Quarter I canís:

*I can read a story and tell you what it is about.
*I can ask and answer questions about key details in a book (with help).
*I can identify the main topic and retell key details in a book (with help).
*I can ask and answer questions to find the meaning of a word in a book (with help).
*I can tell you the reasons an author uses details in a book (with help).
*I can participate in group reading activities.
*I can talk to my friends and adults about kindergarten books and ideas.
*I can follow rules for talking and listening to each other.
*I can take turns when talking and listening to our friends.
*I can tell you what I learned from a book or video.
*I can ask and answer questions to help me learn new information.
*I can describe familiar people, places, things, and events and give details.
* I can add careful, colorful details to my pictures.
*I can talk with an inside voice and tell you what I think, feel, and know.
*I can understand and use questions words (who, what, when, where, and why, and how).

Our class will go to PE daily. Be sure to send your child with gym shoes!

Governor Pat Quinn signed Erin's Law in January of 2013, which requires all schools in the state of Illinois to provide age appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention education programs for their students in grades Pre-K through 12. In response to this legislation, Frankfort School District 157-C will be adding, "Child Lures Prevention: Think First and Stay Safe", curriculum for the school year. The curriculum is available in the school office for parents to preview.
The building social workers will be presenting this information to our students during the weeks of November 7th and November14th. A second presentation will follow in January during the weeks of January 9th and January 16th.

Should your child have any questions, you may refer to the handout that will be provided to them on the day of the lesson. If you have additional questions feel free to contact a School Social Worker Ė Amy Boucek, Nichole Reiser, and Maribeth Fagan.
