Third grade students will participate in playing activities to continue learning about Melody and Harmony. This week, students will focus on singing partner songs to create harmony.
Fourth grade students will continue with recorders this week. They will be finishing an interactive SmartBoard lesson teaching vocabulary associated with the recorder and will learn how to properly blow air in to the recorder. If time allows, students will learn to play their first note, B. As a whole group, students will focus on the pitch B and play songs that isolate this pitch and use fun and upbeat background music.
Fifth grade students will continue studying music genres and famous composers. This week, students will get the opportunity to be a composer. Each student will write a 2 measure rhythm composition that they will perform for their class next week using an unpitched percussion instrument of their choice.
