On this web page you will find a weekly schedule and a general outline for instruction. Please keep in mind that instruction may vary or change throughout the week based on the studentsí needs and understanding. If you have any questions, concerns, or celebrations to share, please contact me at any time.

General Information:

Literacy Night "Enchanted Forest" and the Book Fair are on Wednesday, October 17th from 5:30-7:00 PM.

Our class visit to the Book Fair will be on Thursday, October 18th from 11:25-11:55 AM.

The Math Mid Module Assessment will be given on Monday, October 15th.

The ELA Assessment will be on Tuesday, October 16th.

E.L.A. :

1. We will be reading fiction text and focusing on character traits and how they affect the outcome of the story. (RL 3.3)

2. The children will ask and answer questions to demonstrate understanding of a text by referring explicitly to the text. (RL 3.1)

3. The children are discovering the many features of informational text. Knowing how to identify and use these features will help with learning. (RI 3.5)

4. The children are learning to compare their point of view to that of the narrator or characters (RL 3.6)

5. Writer's Workshop will focus on writing personal narratives and writing to a prompt.

6. We will be reading, writing, and sorting words and patterns in Words Their Way and Word Inquiry.

Math:

1. We will be working in Module 2, Place Value and Problem Solving with Units of Measure.

2. Please encourage your child to work on Zearn at home as well as in school.

***Many children need additional practice with telling time accurately on an analog clock.***
