Please keep in mind that instruction may vary or change throughout the week based on the studentsí needs and understanding. General Information:

Biography Study/Wax Museum information was sent home on Tuesday! Please remind your child to start asap.

On Friday, we will meet our second grade buddies. They are coming to Chelsea! We will also get to see the Hickory Creek performance.

PE Daily - Mr. Klosowski

E.L.A.:

1. We will be reading fiction text and figuring out the meaning of words or phrases in the story. The children can separate literal from non-literal language. They have also learned all about figurative language including similes, metaphors, personification, hyperboles, alliteration, onomatopoeia, and idioms. (RL 3.4)

2. The children will ask and answer questions to demonstrate understanding of a text by referring explicitly to the text. (RL 3.1)

3. The children are discovering that both fiction and nonfiction text have a point of view (PoV.) They can compare their point of view to that of the narrator or characters. (RI 3.6)

4. The children are learning to retell stories using key details and understanding the main idea. (RL 3.2)

5. Writer's Workshop will focus on writing informational text using facts, definitions, and details to support their topic. (W 3.2, 3.2b)

6. We will be reading, writing, and sorting words and patterns in Words Their Way and Word Inquiry.

Math:

1. We will be working in Module 3, Multiplication and Division.

2. Please encourage your child to work on Zearn at home as well as in school.

***Many children need additional practice with telling time accurately on an analog clock.***
