ERIN'S LAW: Governor Pat Quinn signed Erin's Law in January of 2013, which requires all schools in the state of Illinois to provide age appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention education programs for their students in grades
Pre-K through 12. In response to this legislation, Frankfort School District 157-C will be adding, "Child Lures Prevention: Think First and Stay Safe", curriculum for the school year. Our classroom presentations will span between the week of October 19th and December 14th, 2015. The grade level social workers will join your student's PE/Health teacher to facilitate discussion and provide information regarding the pertinent topics. All presentations and discussion will be age-appropriate using sensitivity and language to educate your child for increased safety.

Dear Frankfort 157-C Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to offer our families opportunities to learn through our Tiger University Program. Tiger University is presented by Frankfort School District 157-C in collaboration with Family School Partnership (FSP). The purpose is to provide information on a variety of topics that can empower parents/guardians to raise confident, educated children ready for the 21st century. Parent nights will be held at Hickory Creek Middle School at 6:00 PM. We have our final two events scheduled for April 19th and May 24th. We would love to see you there! Additional information is provided on the link below.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Beginning the week of September 4th students in my class will participate in benchmark screenings provided by Fast Bridge Learning. Fast Bridge is District 157-Cís universal screening instrument. This assessment will be administered in the fall, winter and spring to help teachers determine which students are likely to meet the end of the year learning goals, which students may require intervention and help to determine advanced and honors placements for the following school year. This computer based assessment measures performance in reading and math. Individual fall results will be sent home at the beginning of October after all students have been tested. I look forward to working with your child this school year.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Buividas
