Please see my attached newsletter for all information this week. Thanks for emptying your child's take home folders each night. Have a great week!
Governor Pat Quinn signed Erin's Law in January of 2013, which requires all schools in the state of Illinois to provide age appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention education programs for their students in grades Pre-K through 12. In response to this legislation, Frankfort School District 157-C will be adding, "Child Lures Prevention: Think First and Stay Safe", curriculum for the school year. The curriculum is available in the school office for parents to preview.
The building social workers will be presenting this information to our students during the weeks of November 7th and November14th. A second presentation will follow in January during the weeks of January 9th and January 23rd.
We will be eating a healthy snack

What is an "I Can" statement?
You will noticed posted in our classroom are "I Can" statements. You will also see these on my newsletter and here. An "I Can" statement is a simplified sentence based off of the Common Core learning standards. These simplified sentence help the students understand their learning targets for the week. Each week your child reads our "I Can" statements to help them become more responsible for their learning and more reflective on their own work.
