In partnership with Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210, our district will host a presentation from New York Times bestselling author Julie Lythcott-Haims from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. October 18 at Lincoln-Way East High School's auditorium. The author will sign and sell copies of her bestselling book "How to Raise an Adult: Break Free of the Overparenting Trap and Prepare Your Kid for Success" prior to the presentation, from 5:30-6:00 p.m.

Lythcott-Haims' presentation is based on her book and will draw on her insights as a mother and as a student dean at Stanford University to highlight the ways in which overparenting harms children, parents, and society at large. Her presentation will inspire audiences to encourage and allow children to develop the resourcefulness, resilience, and inner determination necessary for success.

We at Frankfort School District 157-C are proud to partner with Lincoln-Way District 210 to bring such a highly regarded national speaker to our community. Lythcott-Haims has presented at schools throughout the country and presented a TED Talk in 2016 on "How to Raise an Adult." We encourage you to join us on October 18 for this informational, inspirational presentation.
