|Amy Melby - Fifth Grade (Send e-mail)|
Welcome to 5th grade!! I am super excited for this school year:)
Please make sure your student has working headphones everyday at school. Thank you for your support.
This week students in my class will participate in benchmark screenings provided by FastBridge Learning. FastBridge is District 157-Cís new screening instrument that will take the place of AIMSweb. Similarly to AIMSweb, this assessment will be provided in the fall, winter and spring to help teachers determine which students are likely to meet the end of the year learning goals and which students may require intervention. This computer based assessment measures performance in reading and math. The district will be providing training to all teachers on score interpretation. More information will be forthcoming to parents. I look forward to working with your child this school year.

ROBERT CROWN PRESENTATION
Heath educators form Robert Crown will present a program for the girls entitled "Linda" and on for the boys "Michael" on October 5, 2017. Please complete the form and return it by September 29th. If you have any questions then please contact our school nurse Debbie Busch or the Robert Crown Center.
Please take the time to check out the Great Minds website and set up an account. This is an excellent resource that students and parents can access to support the math curriculum. Please follow the link below. In addition, students each have their own Zearn account. They were given their login information last week. You will also be given a copy of this information on Curriculum night. Our class code is DX9A2M.
Music/Band/Orchestra will be on E days for our class. Please make sure your student brings their instrument for their sectionals on that day. See the tiger schedule in my downloads section below.
