SUPPORTING OUR TROOPS
We are collecting items beginning November 10 and concluding on November 17th to create care packages that will be delivered to our current service men and women. We know that these care packages mean a lot to these men and women that are unable to be home with their families over the upcoming holidays. A letter will be sent home on Friday, November 3, 2017 with more details.
SIX FLAGS READ TO SUCCEED
Please consider having your child participate in the Six Flags Read to Succeed Six Hour Reading Club. The form will be sent home in their report card envelopes on Thursday, November 2, 2017. The completed reading log needs to be returned by February 1, 2018.

READING AT HOME
Is reading part of your family's daily routine? Reading is the most important skill because it is the basis for learning throughout the school day. Reading takes practice. Make reading a part of your family's daily routine.
*Read every night with your child or along side your child.
*Ask your child to occasionally read aloud and listen to how they're able to read with fluency-expression, accuracy, rate, phrasing, and punctuation.
*We will be working on reading more fluently in the classroom with weekly goals. What will be your child's goal this week?
E.L.A. READING LOG
*Our fifth grade homework expectation of students is to read a minimum of 80 minutes per week. The students are working on weekly reading goals. Can you exceed the expectation?
TECHNOLOGY- 5th Graders are now 1:1 using Lenovo Laptops. Students have received their Microsoft 365 accounts and can login on office.com from home or on anything with internet connection. We will be using technology all throughout our curriculum.
