Birthdays are celebrated in numerous ways often with gifts, cards, and possibly a party. Please keep the following in mind when considering how to distribute birthday invites.
Invitation Reminder: We never want to have a child feel left out or have their feelings hurt by not receiving an invitation to a party. Even as adults, we know the emotional hurt from being excluded.
This is why we highly discourage the passing out of invitations at school. The only exception is if you are inviting the whole class and the invitations are distributed by your child’s teacher. Invitations are never to be distributed by a student or parent.
Thank you for your cooperation.
TECHNOLOGY- 5th Graders are now 1:1 using Lenovo Laptops. Students have received their Microsoft 365 accounts and can login on office.com from home or on anything with internet connection. We will be using technology all throughout our curriculum.

READING AT HOME-
Is reading part of your family's daily routine? Reading is the most important skill because it is the basis for learning throughout the school day. Reading takes practice. Make reading a part of your family's daily routine.
*Read every night with your child or along side your child.
*Ask your child to occasionally read aloud and listen to how they're able to read with fluency-expression, accuracy, rate, phrasing, and punctuation.
*We will be working on reading more fluently in the classroom with weekly goals. What will be your child's goal this week?
E.L.A. READING LOG
*Our fifth grade homework expectation of students is to read a minimum of 80 minutes per week. The students are working on weekly reading goals. Can you exceed the expectation?
This quarter we are focusing on Book Talks. We will be giving presentations live and digitally.
