TECHNOLOGY- 5th Graders are now 1:1 using Lenovo Laptops. Students have received their Microsoft 365 accounts and can login on office.com from home or on anything with internet connection. We will be using technology all throughout our curriculum. Help sheets are available in the downloads section.

Quarter 2 Curriculum:

MATH- EUREKA
Module 2: Multi-Digit Whole Number and Decimal Operations
Module 3: Addition and Subtraction of Fractions
In Module 3, students' understanding of addition and subtraction of fractions extends from earlier work with fraction equivalence and decimals. This module marks a significant shift away from the elementary grades' centrality of base ten units to the study and use of the full set of fractional units from Grade 5 forward, especially as applied to algebra.

Science: Earth's Systems in the Universe
ESS1.B: Earth and the Solar System
The orbits of Earth around the sun and of the moon around
Earth, together with the rotation of Earth about an axis between
its North and South poles, cause observable patterns. These
include day and night; daily changes in the length and direction
of shadows; and different positions of the sun, moon, and stars
at different times of the day, month, and year.
