**Math multiplication focus is the 8 and 9 facts —please have your child practice these facts daily. Our three minute timed test will be on Thursday, February 14th.
We will continue to read and decide the lesson/moral of various folktales and fables, recount the key points (SWBST), and determine how illustrations contribute to the story. We will also start our Third Quarter novel this week!
The “Read to Succeed” program will be wrapping up soon. If your child would like to receive a free ticket to Great America, please send the sheet back to school soon. The deadline for turning them in is February 22nd.
This week we will continue working on Literary Analysis. We have worked on identifying what the prompt is asking and creating a plan to accurately and fully answer the prompt in a well written essay. We even determined how to write a thesis statement! Now we will put all that we have learned into practice.
We will wrap our unit on magnets this week. The students were asked to come up with a question that we can use the scientific method to work through and answer. I can't wait to see what they come up with on Monday!
