Tara O Hea - Sixth Grade  (Send e-mail)

Welcome to my teacher page! I am so happy to be working with your children this school year. Together, we will work towards your children's goals and prepare them for success at HCMS and beyond.

If you would like to reach me, please do not hesitate to call or e-mail me at tohea@fsd157c.org.

For the 2017-2018 school year, I am co-teaching ELA with Mrs. Bouck as well as teaching a specialized instruction ELA class. I enjoy working with my wonderful students.

Dear Students,

I believe in you.
I am here for you.
I expect great things.
I love your uniqueness.
I will NEVER give up on you.
You are listened to.
Your opinion matters.
You are important.
You're a winner.
You will succeed.
We'll have a wonderful year together.

Love,

Mrs. O'Hea

This week in class

Monday
**This page reflects assignments in my ELA class. Please see Mrs. Bouck's teacher webpage for assignments from our co-taught ELA classes**

9/18: We will be working on our figurative language formative in class and are continuing to read the novel, Rules. We will also be working on individual student goals and word work activities.

Tuesday
9/19: The students have composed some questions so they can interview an occupational therapist during class today. We have been learning about OT in our novel, Rules, and are super excited to have an OT in class today to answer our questions. Also, we will be writing about the difference between reading a book vs. listening to an audio recording of a book.

Wednesday
9/20: The students will be working on a figurative language summative today. We will also continue to read Rules and participate in word work activities.

Thursday
9/21: *Theme Thursday: Hawaiian Day*
The students will be taking our district's Fastbridge ELA assessment. If time allows, we will continue reading Rules and also write about the theme of Rules.

Friday
9/21: Homework is to continue to read your choice books this weekend. Remember, the expectation is that you read one choice book approved by me and also one choice book that is a Rebecca Caudill Award Nominee by October 26th. I will assess whether you read these books or not through our "book talks". Book talk #1 is due on September 29th, and book talk #2 is due on October 26.
