About Me

Hello,

  My name is Mr. Van Assen and I am a fourth grade teacher here at Chelsea..  My students usually call me Mr. V, Mr. Van or Mr. Van Assen.  I have been teaching at Chelsea for 16 years.  I first started teaching in Monee then Forest Park and then Mokena and finally Chelsea.  I have taught all grades from 1st - 6th grade.  I am looking forward to working hard and having fun this year.  We will adventure into many new Math, Science and Social Studies concepts as well and further our current skills.

 

I have 5 Van Assen kids from fourth grade up to a college junior.  I live in Tinley Park but grew up in Grand Rapids, Mi.  I love to play volleyball and watch my kids play baseball and volleyball.

 

I love to work in the yard and watching my kids play sports.
