Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year! I hope you have had a safe, healthy, and enjoyable summer. I am looking forward to learning about the students, teaching them about how to further develop their speech and language skills and improving their overall communication skills to improve their school experiences.
I enjoy working with and learning about my students and consider my time with them invaluable. Besides our work in speech, speech homework may be provided to practice and reinforce learned skills outside of school. While in speech and within the school, we will abide by the expectations of demonstrating respect, responsibility and caring.
This year, I begin my 21st year in our district and 24+ years of teaching. My teaching career started in Addison, IL, near where I grew up. I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Northern Illinois University. Go Huskies! This area has been the place we call home for over 20 years. We enjoy spending time in our time in Michigan for some time away from routine. My husband and I have two high school daughters. Our toy Poodle, Pepper is loving girl to all the humans in our family and knows the sound of the powdered peanut butter jar opening, hoping for a sprinkle on her kibbles!
This year, I will be working with students at Grand Prairie on Mondays and Tuesdays and students at Chelsea on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I look forward to working with you and your children. I anticipate continued growth in the relationships with the students with whom I have had the pleasure of working during the last school year and look forward to forming new partnerships with the students beginning this year. I appreciate your time and anticipate a productive and enjoyable 2024-2025 school year.
Sincerely,
