Week at a Glance: March 10th-14th

 

*Reading:📚 
EQ: How can people work together to make a change?

We are working in our literature unit which focuses on summarizing a story, using context clues to determine the meaning of unknown words and phrases, identifying lessons in literature, and describing how illustrations help us understand a story. This week we will wrap up our novel, Me and Mister P. by Maria Ferrer. Students are having great discussions about themes in the story! 

*Math:📊 
Module 5 - Fractions on a Number Line

This week we will work on lessons 18, 21, 22, & 25. We will also have geometry mini lessons in preparation for IAR testing.

*Writing:📝
Students will review for IAR testing
 
*Science: 🧲
We will continue our unit on forces and motion.
*Governor Pat Quinn signed Erin's Law in January of 2013, which requires all schools in the state of Illinois to provide age appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention education programs for students in grades Pre-K through 12. Our lessons  3rd grade students will begin the week of February 1st. The Chelsea Intermediate School Social Workers will be teaching each lesson in the child’s classroom. The "Think First and Stay Safe" program will be the curriculum utilized for these lessons with a focus on Child Lures.
