Caitlin Ament Team 8B

Class of 2024,

Welcome to 8th grade! I am excited to be your ELA teacher. 

This will be my 10th year teaching and my 4th year at Hickory Creek. I received a degree from Trinity Christian College where I double majored in Elementary Education and Special Education with a focus in English and History. I also have a master's degree in Education Technology from Concordia University.   

The Lincolnway community is near and dear to my heart as I have grown up in the area and have put down roots here with my own family. Some of my favorites include rooting for the Chicago Bears (and anyone that is playing the Packers!), reading a good book, cooking, and spending time with my family. My favorite books include The Fault in our Stars by John Green and Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. I am looking forward to a great school year filled with growth and learning.  Feel free to reach out with any questions and GO TIGERS!!

Please note: In an effort to build passionate readers, we continue to build classroom libraries in which students have choice over the texts they select. There may be books in libraries that are identified by publishers as “young adult” due to the fact that our students are young adults. With that being said, “young adult” books are considered appropriate for up to 18 years of age. Please discuss with your children any parameters that you would like for them to follow as they choose texts from our classrooms.
