About Me
Hello! I taught third grade for 21 years, all but my first three have been in our district. Seven years ago, I made the transition to Math Intervention. This was the only job that I would ever consider leaving 3rd grade for! I always knew I'd love this position but it's hard to make a change after so many years. I can't tell you how much I LOVE my job and how happy I am that I decided to be brave enough to go for it!!
Going further back in time, I was a student who struggled with math in school, I truly understand the frustration, how the kids think, and what I need to do to get them to the next level. When I first began teaching, teaching math was a bit scary but I found that I could reach all my kids because I understood them. It actually became my favorite thing to teach!
Fast forward to many years later, I've found that my undergraduate degree in Education, years of teaching, countless hours of professional development and my masters in Curriculum & Instruction provide me with the background to be successful in my new position.
I've also found that I absolutely love teaching my fourth graders too. So, that's how I ended up in this spot and I truly couldn't be happier! There is nothing better than looking into the eyes of one of my kids and seeing that moment when they understand, have gained some confidence, and are proud of their hard work!!!
When I'm outside of school, I love spending time with my husband and family. You can find us hiking in National Parks, exploring new countries in Europe, or spending time with those we love!
