A Latte About Me

Hi all!

This year will mark my thirteenth in the teaching world. Prior to joining the Chelsea family, I taught kindergarten in Las Vegas, Nevada. Before my big move out west, I taught second grade for five years and high school Spanish for one year in rural Indiana.

My husband and I are enjoying all of the travel and adventures life has to offer. Over the summer, we spent time in Memphis, Tennessee and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. In my spare time you can catch me outdoors soaking up the sun, reading a good book, working on some sort of interior decorating project, or gardening. I also like to spend my time organizing, cleaning, & planning. I am a coffee lover, Elvis Presley fanatic, & enjoy cooking.

I love what I do, and I work very hard year-round to implement the absolute best practices into my classroom.

Governor Pat Quinn signed Erin's Law in January of 2013, which requires all schools in the state of Illinois to provide age-appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention education programs for students in grades Pre-K through 12.   Our lessons for 5th grade students will begin the week of January 18th, 4th grade students will begin the week of January 25th, and 3rd grade students will begin the week of February 1st. The Chelsea Intermediate School Social Workers will be teaching each lesson in the child’s classroom. The "Think First and Stay Safe" program will be the curriculum utilized for these lessons with a focus on Child Lures.
